The Eastern Regional Minister, Hon. Rita Akosua Adjei Awatey, on Monday morning, came to the aid of victims involved in a near-fatal road accident on the Koforidua-Adukrom highway.
The accident, which occurred between Mile 44 and Okrakwadwo, involved a commercial vehicle with registration number GT 5160-17, travelling from Ashaiman to Koforidua. Among the injured was a pregnant woman.

Hon. Rita Akosua Adjei Awatey, who was en route to Krobo Girls Senior High School for an official assignment, stopped at the accident scene and, with the help of her entourage and bystanders, assisted in the rescue operation.
The victims were swiftly conveyed to nearby health facilities for medical attention. Fortunately, no fatalities were recorded at the scene.
This is not the first time the Minister has extended such humanitarian support. On March 28 this year, she intervened at the scene of a fatal accident involving a bus transporting 65 schoolchildren, teachers, and parents on an excursion to Akosombo, where unfortunately, two lives were lost.
