The Ghana Export Promotion Authority, the lead agency for the Implementation of the National Export Development Strategy (NEDS) is committed to ensuring that the document changes Ghana’s fortunes as envisaged, for us to benefit as individuals.
To this end, the authority has organised a NEDS/AfCFTA National Implementation Workshop for all related stakeholders in the trade and export promotion sectors to discuss practical solutions on how the country could leverage the African Continental Free Trade Area to achieve its export development strategy.
In the welcome address of the Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Export Promotion Authority, Dr. Afua Asabea Asare, said: “We can’t continue to do things the same way and expect different results. We need to all put our hands on deck to deliver the nation Ghana from its current state of dependency on imports and this can only be achieved through tackling the situation from the grassroots”.
She indicated that the workshop should provoke all stakeholders to make things happen and think like there is no box.
Deputy Minister of Trade and Industry, Hon. Herbert Krapa made a plea to all institutions, both public and private, to trigger the interventions outlined in the National Export Development Strategy.
Present at the workshop were Chief Executives and Representatives of state owned and private companies.
