Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II has urged Ghanaian youth not to allow themselves to be deceived by politicians for violent activities in this election period because they may risk their lives for nothing good.
According to Otumfuo, the youth all the time fight for people’s power and are later betrayed after they win power.
Otumfuo Osei Tutu II stated that politicians enjoyed life with their family’s while those who helped them to be who they are maybe left behind to struggle for jobs.
He noted that politics is a contest of ideas and not about violence hence politicians must refrain from activities that will fetch violence in the country.
This came to light when Otumfuo charged the Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Mr James Oppong-Boanuh and sister security agencies to maintain law and order before, during, and after the 2020 polls.
The IGP on his part also assured that the police are well-prepared for the exercise adding that Ghanaians should conduct themselves properly in order not to face the law.
Again the IGP pleaded with Ghanaians to go to the polls peacefully and abstain from fomenting trouble, repeating that the law would catch up with anyone who faulted the electoral rules.
