Nana Agyekum Addo, also known as Dr. Michael Agyekum Addo, the Nkabomhene (Unity Chief) of New Juaben ,and Chief Executive of the KAMA Group of Companies, has entered the fray of the ongoing social media debate sparked by Kofi Gabs, a prominent Ghanaian social media personality residing in the Netherlands.
Kofi Gabs recently ignited controversy with his assertion that his Dutch passport holds more practical value than a PhD from Ghana.
His comments have stirred vigorous discussions on social media platforms about the relative value of educational achievements in Ghana.
In response, Nana Agyekum Addo, the astute businessman and entrepreneur provided a nuanced perspective on the concept of wealth and success disagreeing with the Netherlands based Ghanaian.
In an interview with Obed Kojo Ansah, a journalist in Koforidua ,Nana Agyekum Addo said “Wealth is wisdom and people. Wealth is not cash. The kind of networks you have and the wisdom you have to carry the network with you is money,” he stated.
He added “If you don’t have money, it means that you don’t see the opportunities in your environment. You didn’t implement your dreams. If you do, wealth becomes automatic to you.”
Nana Agyekum Addo’s comments highlight the importance of leveraging one’s knowledge and connections to create wealth, rather than focusing solely on monetary assets.
His remarks suggest that true wealth lies in the ability to recognize and seize opportunities, a wisdom that transcends conventional notions of financial success.
The debate continues to resonate widely, reflecting broader concerns about the value of education and opportunities available to Ghanaians both at home and abroad.
