A torrential downpour has caused serious damages to several homes and properties within the New Juaben North Municipality on Thursday night.
The Municipal chief executive, Hon. Samuel Adongo together with the Municipal coordinating director, NADMO officials and officers from the physical planning and works department visited Jumapo, one of the towns within the Municipality to get first hand information and assess the degree of damages caused by the the torrential downpour on Thursday, May 23.

During the visit to Jumapo, the team led by the MCE realised that several houses and properties were damaged rendering several households homeless.
Items destroyed by the rain water included personal belongings such home appliances, mattress and agricultural produce.

All the homes the team visited had their roofing sheets carried away by the windstorm.
Hon. Samuel Adongo commiserated with the affected homes and, therefore, tasked the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO) to check what they have in-stock and address urgent needs of the affected homes immediately.

Hon. Adongo further tasked the Assembly member for the area, Hon. Bannes to liaise with the NADMO to access further damages and report on same.
The MCE has appealed to residents within the Municipality to put their homes in order to mitigate any future disasters as the rains commences.
