The New Juaben South Constituency Executives of the ruling New Patriotic Party, NPP, have assured that the Parliamentary Primary on Saturday would be peaceful.
Addressing the media on Friday in Koforidua, Isaac Adjabeng the Constituency Secretary said, New Juaben South is calm contrary to media reports of simmering tension which could degenerate into chaos.
“We want to assure you that everything is set for the primaries. We have put in place security measures, we have met the security agencies, and they have assured else of their support. The Constituency has 34 Polling station centers and the Constituency Executives, the patrons and the council of elders are going to vote at the Constituency officer which is also a center making it 35.”
He explained that 582 delegates are expected to vote peacefully in 35 designated voting centers.
“We have 582 delegates. We are expecting to turn out the percentage of 98% The issue of the album yesterday the Regional Secretariat -the Regional Chairman met both sides and the issue has been resolved to at now we don’t have any problem with the photo album”
Dr. Mark Assibey-Yeboah the incumbent Member of Parliament who is Chairman of the Finance Committee in Parliament is slugging it out with the Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Free Zones Authority, Michael Okyere Baafi. It is one of the hotpots in the Eastern Region
The Constituency Executives pledged to support any of the candidates who emerges winner in the primary.
