The newly appointed Chief Executive of the National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA), Dr. Victor Asare Bampoe, has embarked on a familiarisation tour of various Directorates within the Authority.
The visit allowed him to engage with staff members, understand the operational framework of the different directorates, and hint at his vision for the future of the NHIA.
At every Directorate he visited, staff members warmly welcomed him and took the opportunity to introduce themselves and their respective functions within the NHIA.
This direct engagement allowed Dr. Bampoe to gain first-hand insight into the Authority’s operations, challenges, and opportunities for improvement.
Dr Bampoe’s visit was met with optimism among NHIA employees, who expressed their readiness to support his leadership in ensuring the smooth running of the Authority.
Many staff members acknowledged the importance of a hands-on leadership approach and expressed confidence in Dr. Bampoe’s ability to guide the NHIA toward achieving its objectives.
During his tour, Dr. Bampoe assured staff of his commitment to working collaboratively with the entire team to ensure the success of the NHIA’s mandate.
He emphasised the importance of teamwork and creating synergy to drive the Authority forward, stating that his leadership will be anchored on inclusivity, transparency, and a shared purpose.
A key component of Dr. Bampoe’s vision is the pursuit of Universal Health Coverage, which he aims to achieve by strengthening public confidence in the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS), per President John Dramani Mahama’s directive.
He stressed that increasing accessibility, efficiency, and credibility will be essential in making the Scheme more beneficial to the public.
He noted that his administration’s approach will center on leveraging innovative solutions and fostering trust among stakeholders.
