The Director of Public Affairs for Parliamentary Services, Kate Addo, has clarified the purpose of the resumption of parliament today.
According to her, the old parliamentary members have to resume their work and continue till 6th January.
Speaking with Abena Pokuaa Ahwenee on Dadi FM, 101.1, it doesn’t matter if the member won or lost at the just-ended elections they have to complete their work.
“This resumption is not for new elected members but the old ones so they can finish their work so it’s not the new elected members it’s the sitting members”, she educated.
She added that the new members will take over from them from 7th January and also start their work.
“The new parliament will take effect from 6th January after the old parliament has completed its final work”, she said.
