To enhance NHIS members’ experience at healthcare service points, the National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA) has extended its operations by setting up Customer Service Centers at some of its credentialed health facilities.
These Customer Service Centres situated within the health facilities are to provide support to NHIS members when they visit the facilities for healthcare services.
NHIS staff who will be present at these Centers are to interface with members and the public at the health facilities to receive and resolve complaints, assist them to navigate through the healthcare processes, renew membership, and register new members onto the scheme
In order to better equip staff to manage the centers, the Corporate Affairs Directorate led by its Ag. Director, Mr. Oswald Essuah-Mensah together with Mr. Raymond Avinu, Ag. Director, Administration, who is also a member of the National Co-payment Committee have visited the districts where the Customer Service Centers have been constructed to train the staff on complaint management and resolution skills and guidelines in handling Copayment issues.
The training was facilitated by the Provider Relations Manager, Mr. Eric Boadi-Afoakwa.
The Customer Service Centres are currently operational at the Saltpond Government Hospital and, Princess Marie Louis Hospital, Accra whilst the Holy Family Hospital, Nkawkaw, and Sunyani Municipal Hospital are expected to be operationalized in the coming weeks.
NHIA Management intends to increase staff presence at provider sites in order to enhance NHIS Members’ experiences whilst they seek healthcare.
