Residents of Tema Manhia in the Tema East District of the Greater Accra Region can now breathe a sigh of relief after the National Health Insurance Authority commissioned the new satellite office in the catchment area.
The construction was funded by the then Member of Parliament for Tema East Constituency Hon. Titus Glover after several appeals from the natives of Tema Manhia.
Hitherto residents around the Tema Manhia community had to travel long distance access the services of the NHIS around neighboring facilities mainly Tema community 18.
Hon. Titus Glover was grateful to management of the Authority for ensuring that the edifice has seen the light of day by making it fully operational and accessible to the people.
He emphasized the importance of the office to improve healthcare delivery systems of the over 120,000 population in the district.
CEO of the NHIA Dr. Okoe Boye who commissioned the building said the importance of the office was to bring the services of NHIS to their doorstep.
