Nigeria’s President Muhammadu Buhari is meeting today with security chiefs in Abuja to review and strengthen the country’s security network.
Buhari said that the safety of Nigerians remained the government’s highest priority.
He stressed that security agents were proactively rooting out threats to keep citizens safe. Several countries, including the United Kingdom, last week issued travel advisories warning citizens of possible terrorist attacks when travelling to Nigeria.
Just on Saturday Nigeria’s military killed eight suspected Islamic State-allied jihadists after repelling a raid on a military base in central Niger state.
