The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) has raised the price of fuel by 11%.
The increase, the second in two weeks, has pushed fuel prices from 858 naira ($0.53) a litre to 950 naira in Lagos and as high as 1,019 naira ($0.62) in the northeastern states.
The NNPC has just started purchasing fuel from the Dangote Petroleum Refinery near Lagos — paying for it in US dollars.
