A Seven (7) member delegation from Nigeria’s Health Insurance Authority has paid a 3-day visit to Ghana’s NHIA to understudy Ghana’s 20-year long experience of implementation of the NHIS.
The three -day visit to the Authority was to learn about the operations, Claims management and Quality Assurance processes of Ghana’s health insurance scheme with a recourse to improve on the Nigerian Health Insurance scheme.
Welcoming the delegation, the NHIA Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Okoe Boye, expressed Ghana’s willingness to provide the necessary technical assistance to Nigeria to be more efficient in the provision of healthcare to Nigerians.
He noted that the success of Nigeria’s Health Insurance is an overall success story for Africa, hence Ghana’s readiness to support the Nigerian NHIA in every way possible.
