The four (4) year old boy abducted by a woman while in school at Nkawkaw in the Eastern Region has been found alive hale and hearty at Anyinam.
He was found by a resident at Anyinam in Atiwa East District Tuesday evening wearing a verse and one slipper seated under a kiosk crying.
He was taken to the Anyinam Police station a resident by the name Shaibu Zibiru.
The boy was allegedly abducted Monday, March 22, 2021, at about 12:30pm in Iffradulai Preparatory School in Nkawkaw Zongo.
The suspect reportedly sneaked to the school to abduct the boy under the pretense that his parents sent her.
“A lady who dressed in hijab entered the school and went to the headmaster’s office pretended to have been sent by the parents (victim mother) to assist bring them home. She took five of the pupils who belong to the same father but different mothers and on their way home she absconded with Mansur Mohammed. The lady also took five of the pupils who belong to the same father but different mothers and on their way home she bolted with Mansur Mohammed. The four pupils went home and reported to their parents” witness narrated when the incident occurred.
Parents of the victim formally reported the incident to Nkawkaw Police. The Eastern Regional Police Command issued an emergency alert notice to all District commands when notified about the incident.
Anyinam District Police Commander DSP Daniel Wiafe told Journalists Wednesday morning that, the boy is physically hale and hearty but per standard operative procedure, he will be sent to the hospital for medical examination.
“On Monday we had information on our Police Eastern Regional Security Platform to the effect that a child of four years by name Mohammed has got missing from school. Thankfully, the regional Command notified all districts close to Nkawkaw to be on alert and by His grace, early this morning one Shaibu Zubiru who leaves menskrom junction brought in the victim who happens to be the missing child to Anyinam Police station. Upon inquiries police got to know that he is the very person who has gotten missing since Monday. So the district command liaise with the Nkawkaw district Police command and they confirmed. The parents of the child have also identified him” Anyinam District Police Commander DSP Daniel Wiafe said.
The Police Commander added that “When he was found, according to Shaibu Subiru, initially the child couldn’t speak, when you ask him any language the child could not respond but this morning at the station when the parents came he started talking and then any question they ask him he was able to answer them. For now, he has not been able to tell the police as to how he got to this place. Now that he has since the parents and has started talking maybe he will be able to tell how he got missing the police will ensure he is taken to the hospital before handed over to the parent.”
It was emotional when the Parents of the victim arrived with tears of joy seeing their child at the Police station.
The police are on a manhunt for the suspect.
