A Nursing Mother has been arrested by the Nkawkaw Police Command for possessing fake Ghana cedis currency.
She was arrested for allegedly using fake 100 Ghana Cedis notes to buy food items at the Nkawkaw Central Market Thursday morning.
The Nkawkaw Central Police Station Officer, Chief Inspector Seth Ahwiren confirmed the arrest to mybrytfmonline.com. He said the currency would be subjected to expert analysis.
The suspect is however in the Police Custody assisting in investigation.
The Akropong District Police Command a month ago similarly arrested a 32-year-old woman-Comfort Duodu for possessing Ghc50 and Gh20 Notes suspected to be fake currency.
According to the Public Relations Officer of the Eastern Regional Police Command, DSP Ebenezer Tetteh, the deceased was arrested on March 13, 2020, around 5:45pm.
He said, a search conducted in a black handbag Which had the suspect after her arrest by police revealed the sum of GH¢1110 with the same serial numbers Comprising of 50 cedis notes and three 20 cedis notes.
