As the movement for better roads continues, Stephen Jalulah, the deputy minister of roads, is urging Ghanaians to remain peaceful.
According to Mr Jalulah, the government would make every effort to repair Ghana’s majority of terrible roads.
Due to bad roads, many Ghanaians have recently started a number of protests.
Stephen Jalulah, who accompanied the President to cut sod for the Bawjiase-Kasoa road, assured that the demands would be met.
“Each one of us should be patient. Like I have always said, no amount of demonstrations can construct a road,” the Deputy Minister said.
“These people haven’t demonstrated, but they lobbied, and we found it necessary to come and do their roads for them.”
The deputy minister’s remarks are in line with those of the Ashanti Regional Minister, Simon Osei Mensah, who asked residents of the area to maintain calm while demand for better roads keeps rising.
Some Ashanti Region residents have recently turned to protest in order to demand better roads; the culmination of these agitations was the confrontation of Osei Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu, the member of parliament for Suame.
