For the first time in many years, none of the Black Stars players were named in the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations best XI after the group stages due to the team’s poor showing at the tournament.
Ghana recorded their worse AFCON tournament and their first exit since 2006 after finishing bottom of Group C behind Morocco, Gabon and Comoros.
The four-time African Champions will now have to wait until 2023 in the search of a fifth AFCON title in Ivory Coast.
Following the conclusion of the AFCON 2021 Group Stage, the Technical Study Group (TSG) of the Confederations of African Football released their Best 11 with no Ghanaian player making the cut.
Nigeria, Morocco and Egypt had the highest number of players with two each whereas Ivory Coast, Mali, Gambia, Guinea and Cameroon has one each.
