Accra, Ghana – The Ministry of the Interior has strongly refuted claims circulating on social media that pastors and certain individuals are exempt from security checks. In a firm response, the Ministry labeled these allegations as “baseless and entirely false,” urging the public to ignore such misinformation.
In a statement issued by its Public Affairs and Communications Unit, the Ministry warned that such misleading claims could erode public trust and compromise national security. It emphasized that security protocols apply equally to all citizens, regardless of their status or profession.
“No individual or group has been granted special privileges to bypass security checks,” the statement read. “The Ministry of the Interior wishes to state categorically that these claims should be disregarded immediately.”
Reaffirming its commitment to national security and public safety, the Ministry assured Ghanaians that all security measures remain uniform and non-discriminatory. It also cautioned against the misuse of its name in spreading falsehoods, stressing that such actions could have serious consequences.
Furthermore, the Ministry urged the public to verify information from official sources before sharing it online, warning against the dangers of misinformation. Citizens were encouraged to report any suspicious activities to the appropriate authorities to help maintain law and order.
As the government continues to strengthen security measures, the Ministry reassured the public that transparency remains a priority and that it will provide timely updates on security policies when necessary.
