Flagbearer hopeful of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Francis Addai-Nimoh believes he is the only candidate that can break the eight.
According to the former Asante Mampong constituency MP, he believes that the party requires a “new face” in order to win the general election.
“The prevailing circumstances of our party now require a new face as the next presidential candidate and the new face is me,” he added.
“The new face brings the new energy and the fresh appeal to harness the challenging times and opportunities ahead successfully,” he said.
He made this statement after visiting the Manhyia Palace to declare his intention to run in the NPP presidential primaries.
He said a new face that has a natural appeal to unify people, not anyone with an artificial ability but one that the people resonate with and a new face that is not part of the current administration.
He added that you are unlikely to win if you have a candidate who is part of the outgoing government.
Touting himself as the unifier required to win the 2024 presidential race, he said he is saddened by the factions in the party which have the potential to affect its fortunes.
