Ali Adolf G. John, the Northern Region Minister-Designate, has pledged to address the ongoing problem of accused witches being mistreated and shunned in some communities.
Adolf voiced his profound worry during his screening on Thursday, January 23, over the predicament of accused people, especially older ladies, who frequently face physical abuse, exile, and public humiliation.
He promised to work closely with traditional leaders to safeguard those who have been accused and help them reintegrate into society.
Adolf called some of the situations that were recorded “horrible” and emphasized the significance of working together to guarantee everyone’s safety and dignity.
“Most of the aged are often accused of witchcraft and some of the footage is horrific so I will do everything possible with the traditional leaders to handle this issue.
“We need the intervention of the traditional rulers to help us help these people to reintegrate them back into society.”
