Ghana legend, Asamoah Gyan has expressed his uneasiness about his inability to win the Africa Cup of Nations with the Black Stars and has revealed that it’s heartbreaking anytime he thinks about it.
Gyan, who made his Black Stars debut back in 2003 has failed to win a major silverware with the national team.
Ghana has failed to win the African Cup of the nation since lifting the Mundial in 1982.
Despite coming close twice in 2010 and 2015, Ghana lost in the finals to Egypt and Ivory Coast respectively.
However, in an interview with Adom TV, Gyan said, “In the African Cup of Nations, I personally thought we could achieve it by winning it.”
“So far since 2003 where I joined the national team, we come close but we don’t win it and this comes as a worry to me”
“We have come close but it did not happen. We still believe that we can win it. Every day I say that if I am not able to win it, the next generation with prayers can win it.” He ended.
Gyan is the all-time top scorer for Ghana with 51 goals in 109 appearances.
