The Chief Executive Officer of the National Petroleum Authority (NPA), Dr. Mustapha Hamid has emphasized that his outfit has met with Oil marketing companies, security agencies, Regional officers, and other stakeholders in the petroleum industry since assumption into office in July this year.
The familiarisation visits according to the CEO are to be abreast with the activities of all stakeholders and ensure they operate by the laid down procedures.
He added that it will also afford his outfit the opportunity to also interact with its Regional staff to first-hand information on their activities and challenges to help address them.
Speaking to the media in Koforidua as part of his visit to the Eastern region, Dr. Mustapha Hamid stressed the NPA will continue to ensure Ghanaians are supplied with quality petroleum products at all times to deal with adulterated fuel on the market and fuel smuggling.
On the issue of scraping some taxes on petroleum products by the government, the NPA Boss indicated that the move is in the right direction as it will help deal with persistent price increases of petroleum products till the end of the year.
Dr. Mustapha Hamid who was accompanied by heads of departments at the NPA visited some petroleum distribution outlets to ascertain their activities.
