The party office of the ruling New Patriotic Party at the Atwima Mponua Constituency in the Ashanti Region is in at the verge of closure as property owner threatens to shut the office down over unpaid rents for months.
The property owner who appeared to the party office with a padlock to lock down the office drew the attention of Bryt FM’s reporter Hamza Mohammed, and some residents around the neighbourhood whom some are people believed to be members of the ruling party approached the landlord to make enquiries as to why he is furious with a padlock in hand.
Nana Poku Dabankah, the property owner in an interview with Hamza Mohammed said he is there to meet the party officials as to why they are defaulting their promises when they came to rent the place.
“What annoys me most is whenever I request to meet the party chairman; I can’t get in touch with him. That is why I am here to lock the place with my own padlock because the property belongs to me. They equally have houses so they should use one of their rooms to be their party office. I’m fed up”, he wailed
“They owe me for 2-years and I have gone through a lot of frustrations during this period. Whenever I request my money they say their party officer is yet to be completed and they keep on tossing me so I can’t bear it anymore,” he added.
