Professor Christopher Ameyaw-Akumfi, Board Chairman of the Public Procurement Authority (GPA) of Ghana has observed that if Ghanaians will make the history of extending a ruling party’s tenure after eight (8) years as has always been the case in the fourth republic dispensation, then it will largely depend on the performance of the NPP.
He said President Akufo-Addo led government in the remaining three (3) years of their second tenure in office would determine the outcome of the 2024 elections.
He is, therefore, pleading with NPP party members to at any opportune time tell Ghanaians the good policies and programmes the NPP government has introduced since coming to power office and requires that the party be given some more time after the eight years for another term.
Prof. Ameyaw-Akumfi who is aspiring to be NPP’s National Chairman made this disclosure in an exclusive interview with the media in Techiman, the Bono East regional capital after he had embarked on several activities during the Christmas and New Year festivities with party faithful, orphans and aged as well as the general public.
Prof. Ameyaw-Akumfi further noted that the NPP needs strong unity, commitment and discipline to break the eighth therefore calling for a peaceful and transparent party internal branch to national level elections which are expected to be held from 20th January to June 2022 across all constituencies of Ghana.
