The New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) flag bearer candidate, Boakye Agyarko has stated emphatically that he hasn’t withdrawn from the party’s presidential primaries, and he is prepared for the party’s impending run-off on September 2, 2023.
“My attention has been drawn to some false claims and reports that I, Boakye Agyarko have withdrawn from the NPP presidential primaries.
“I have not made any such pronouncements with anyone or any media house, I am ready for the upcoming run-off scheduled for Saturday 2nd September 2023,” he added in a statement.
Boakye Agyarko and Francis Addai-Nimoh are tied for first place in the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) flagbearer election, which will take place on Saturday, August 26, 2023. The NPP has declared that a run-off will be held on September 2 to break the tie.
This comes after they each received nine (9) votes.
Prior to the final vote on November 4, 2023, the Special Delegates Conference was intended to reduce the field of candidates to five. However, both candidates got nine votes, matching them for fifth place.
