New Patriotic Party (NPP) General Secretary, John Boadu, has emphasised that the mandate of a Vetting Committee should not contradict that of the party’s Disciplinary Committee in any way.
Speaking on the postponement of the Central Regional elections of the party over the weekend, the party Scriber expressed worry at the leadership of the party in the region led by Chairman Robert Kutin Jnr.
Some five-card bearing party members of the NPP from Ekumfi seek an injunction on the elections of the Regional Executives following their failure to have the Ekumfi constituency elections held.
According to the plaintiffs, the actions of the incumbent Chairman are denying delegates of Ekumfi to exercise their franchise in electing their own Regional Executives.
However, Mr John Boadu speaking on Adom TV with Omanhene Kwabena Asante, indicated the actions of the Regional Executives in failing to enforce the party’s laws and processes could affect their future positions.
The General Secretary was even bold to explain on live TV that such personalities with Government appointments could even lose their jobs if found culpable in the elections’ conduct by the party.
“There are long process to resort to in the NPP if anyone has an issue, so you don’t sit down as an Executive and disqualify a person who wants to contest at the late hour due to an issue that could have been dealt with long before electioneering periods” John Boadu stated.
The Central Regional Chairman of the NPP, Robert Kutin Jnr has come under several attacks following his alleged autocratic leadership style melted out on party members who oppose his ideas.
