The General Secretary of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) John Boadu has said the Sene-West Parliamentary seat which is yet to be declared, would go their way.
He said for the avoidance of doubt, the EC published the number of parliamentary seats held by the NPP and the NDC and an independent candidate and currently, the NPP has 137 seats and the NDC has 136 and an independent candidate has one seat.
Speaking at a press conference held at the party’s headquarters in Accra, Mr. John Boadu said
Regarding the parliamentary election, the results were collated and declared in all constituency EC collation centers across the country, except that of Sene-West, which is yet to be declared.
The EC has affirmed that indeed, the NPP has the majority of seats in parliament as of now, adding, Yet, the NDC continues to insist that they have a parliamentary majority despite this glaring fact. It is important to remind the NDC that they are not entitled to their set of facts. In an election, pink sheets are the primary documents by which victors and vanquished are decided.
In 2016 in the Sene West Constituency, KWAME TWUMASI AMPOFO (NDC) had 10,229 representing 51.86% to win the seat against JOSEPH MACKAY KUMAH (NPP) 8,747 (44.34%).
