The ruling New Patriotic Party, NPP, failed to challenge the 2020 Parliamentary election results in the Asuogyaman constituency in the Eastern Region.
The incumbent NDC MP Thomas Ampem Nyarko polled 24,439 which represented 51.3% to retain the seat as against Paul Asare Ansah of the NPP who garnered 23,201 represented 48.7%.
NPP party served notice to challenge the results in Court however Asuogyaman is missing in the list of constituencies the party believed has a genuine case to pursue in court as of Wednesday, January 13, 2020 deadline.
Bright Sikanku the Asuogyaman Constituency Secretary of the NDC told Mybrytfmonline.com that, the NDC has not been served any suit.
A total of 16 suits have so far been initiated by both NDC and NPP on the Parliamentary elections.
The NPP for instance is challenging results in the Buem, Kintampo North, Savelugu, Pusiga, Jomoro, Assin North, Banda, and Krachi West constituencies.
The NDC on the other hand is challenging results in the Techiman South, Hohoe, Tano South, Tarkwa Nsuaem, Essikado Ketan, Tema West, Zabzugu, and Sefwi Wiawso constituencies.
Meanwhile, the Supreme Court is set to begin legal processes today Thursday to start hearing of election petition filed by the 2020 Presidential Candidate of the largest Opposition Party NDC- John Dramani Mahama.
