Francis Addai-Nimoh, a prospective New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer, has reaffirmed that he is the party’s greatest chance of winning handily in the general elections of 2024.
As the most seasoned candidate out of the four running for the position, he asked delegates to cast a large number of ballots for him when he appeared on Adom FM’s morning show, Dwaso Nsem on Wednesday.
“Among all the aspirants, I’m the senior even though I’m the youngest. I’m 58 years old, the Vice President is 60, Kennedy Agyapong is about 63 and Afriyie Akoto is in his 70s but they are all first-timers,” he said.
After running in the 2014 NPP presidential primary, Mr. Addai-Nimoh claimed to have the necessary leadership experience to head the party.
He believes that the party should be led by someone who is naturally cohesive, cool, and collected.
“I have served my region, TESCON especially in 2016 when we faced challenges within the party. If you want to set a record you don’t use the same path you’ve used in the past, there has to be a unique approach,” he advised.
If elected flagbearer, the former Mampong Member of Parliament (MP) promised party members just and equal resource allocations.
On November 4, 2023, NPP members will cast ballots to choose a presidential candidate who would represent the party in the general elections of 2024.
At the National Delegates Conference, more than 210,000 delegates are anticipated to cast ballots.
In the race for the top spot are Vice President Dr. Alhaji Mahamudu Bawumia, Mr. Addai-Nimoh, Assin Central MP Kennedy Agyapong, and former Agriculture Minister Dr. Afriyie Akoto.
