District Chief Executive for Kwahu East, Hon Isaac Agyapong has said the NPP government will continue to prioritize and support agriculture to make the sector one of the most viable driving forces of Ghana’s economic development and transformation.
According to him, the Akufo-Addo government will continue to support agriculture through planting for food and jobs, thus the supply of fertilizers, seeds, and other inputs.
He said the government has recruited more extension officers and provided them 13 motorbikes to aid them to visit farmers regularly in the district.
Farmers Day celebration yesterday at Kwahu Bukuruwa, December 6, 2019, DCE Isaac Agyapong expressed his appreciation to farmers and fisherfolk for their hard work and dedication to the cause of building Ghana over the period.
He urged the district dwellers and Ghanaians to support farmers by consuming their produce in a bid to boost self-sufficiency.
The DCE further urged the farmers to build on their success for 2019 to greater heights in the coming year(s)
