Prophet Nigel Gaisie, the General Overseer of the Prophet Hill Chapel, has said that the governing New Patriotic Party has left his colleague Rev. Owusu Bempah to his fate.
To him, the treatment meted to Rev. Owusu Bempah is unfair adding that the man of God isn’t in a good place.
“I am saddened by the issue and will appeal to the court to temper justice with mercy. First, where he was arrested was not the right place and now he has been remanded,” he said on Accra-based Okay FM.
In the latest twist, the Ghana Police Service on Sunday, September 12, 2021, arrested Rev Owusu Bempah and four others, for their involvement in the creation and circulation of multiple videos which contained threats of causing harm and violence.
The police pointed that they were also arrested for brandishing a weapon, as well as assault, on some police personnel who were injured and currently on medical treatment.
According to the police, the suspects were arrested “after critically analyzing the said videos and based on intelligence gathered”. Already, two other suspects in connection with the acts are said to be on run with the Police in pursuit of them.
Rev. Bempah, who has been charged with threat of life for allegedly threatening to kill Nana Agraada, as well as offensive conduct to the breach of peace, made his first appearance before the Accra Circuit Court on Monday, along with five other members of the church.
