Ghana’s Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia delivered the keynote address at the NPP-UK International Women Conference held in London.
He spoke primarily on the solid record of achievement of the New Patriotic Party (NPP: Development in Freedom) government under President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo despite the blight on the economy by the Covid-19 pandemic and the Russia-Ukraine war.
Dr. Bawumia outlined over a hundred (100) substantial problems this government inherited but has fixed or made progress on, many of which are happening for the first time since independence.
On the sidelines of the Vice President’s working visit to the United Kingdom (UK), I held separate meetings with auto giants in the UK to explore opportunities available for investments in the auto industry in Ghana, and also launched the UK-Ghana Investor Group.
The central objective of these meetings was to create a business-friendly and synergistic relationship between Ghana and UK investors. It was refreshing to learn how determined auto industries in the UK are ready and willing to create viable investments in Ghana through partnerships.
