The erstwhile Ashanti Regional Chairperson for the Convention People Party, Mr A. S Osei Yaw, has called on the office of the Special Prosecutor (SP) to deal with NPP elected candidates in the just-ended conference over purported vote-buying.
He announced that the conduct of the NPP candidates is a hazard to the country’s democracy, however, called on the OSP to as soon as possible call them to book.
Mr A. S Osei Yaw was very optimistic that the nefarious attitudes of the candidates are tantamount to creating fiscal catastrophe for the state.
“Where nobody can even get one daily bread, how can you pay twenty-five thousand cedis each for over three hundred delegates? This is tantamount to causing financial loss to the state. The SP must arrest them now,” he reiterated.
The clamorous media practitioner cum politician depicted that, the fallout from the just-ended NPP elections shows that, the party is crooked, perhaps calling on the Council of State members, IGP and other relevant stakeholders to call the winning and losing candidates to face the full magnitude of the laws.
“The IGP, Council of State members and other relevant stakeholders must call the winning and losing candidates of the ruling NPP to answer questions pertaining to how they could raise such a hooping amount of money to fund their campaigns “, he confirmed.
