The Branch Executives of the ruling New Patriotic Party – Japan as part of their efforts to organize and mobilize funds for the NPP has over the weekend held a mini fundraising dinner on Sunday, 15th December 2019 at Yokohama were over a large number of party supporters, Patriots and sympathizers were present.
The First Vice Chairman of the Branch, Mr. Michael Awuah acting on behalf of the Chairman, stated if Ghana would be a better place for both the current and next-generation then we have to support to retain the NPP in the next election 2020 and the diaspora branches have no excuse to be backbenchers.
He threw more light on the achievement of the Nana Addo’s government within the last three years. Mr. Awuah, thank all members for their financial support towards the 2016 election and was full of praise because all the five constituencies supported by the Japan branch won their seats.
His Excellency Mr. Frank Okyere, Ghana’s Ambassador to Japan, the guest of honor enumerated what the NPP government is doing to ease the burdens of Ghanaians especially farmers who research shows that they are among the most vulnerable.
He also elaborated on how the NPP government thinks well of Ghanaians abroad by reducing the import duties, putting up a biometric passport machine at Tokyo to serve Ghanaians in Asia.
The Ambassador reiterated the need to invest in the Ghanaian economy especially the manufacturing and agricultural sector where good policies have been implemented.
He also confirms his commitment to link any Ghanaians and other nationals who are interested in investing in Ghana through the GIPC for advice.
The branch secretary, Rev. Charles Fofie Newman encouraged members present to dedicate their time and resources to retain power in 2020.
In his special reportage, he recounted the numerous projects embarked on by the NPP government as part of the agenda of change and creating equal opportunities for all.
Flagship programmes such as the Free SHS, One District one Factory, one village one dam, NABCO, Ghana card, 10-year passport, reduction in the benchmark vehicle duty, Ghana post GPS, etc are making a greater impact in the lives of Ghanaians.
He later announced that the National Congress of NPP-Japan has been scheduled to take place on 4th May 2020 in Saitama, Tokyo.
