The former member of Parliament for Ayensuano, Hon. Samuel Ayeh-Paye has thrown a challenge to one of his contenders in the parliamentary primaries at the Ayensuano Constituency, Hon. Mark Okraku Mante, deputy minister for Tourism, Arts and Culture to outline at least one project he has done in the Constituency.
Speaking with Igwe Gyan on the Ɛnɛ Ghana Political Talk Show on Afeema fm Monday night, Hon. Samuel Ayeh-Paye who picked his nomination forms last week challenged Mark Okraku Mante, who has also shown interest by picking forms to contest in the Constituency to show him and the people of Ayensuano at least one project he has done in the area and he will step down for him.
“As a deputy minister, what has been your contribution to the development of the Constituency. I have asked him to show a single project he has done, if he is able to do that, I will step down for him” he said.
The three-term member of Parliament also disclosed that, Mark Okraku Mante does not vote in the constituency, he has never shown concern about the issues of Ayensuano, thus, he should be rejected.
“He votes and do his political work in a different Constituency, so when did he remember that he is from Ayensuano”, he asked.
He added that, though Okraku Mante hails from Ayensuano, he has never seen him in any NPP program in the constituency.
The three term member of Parliament believes that, this years primaries will be the easiest for him because of his track record , hard work and contribution to the developmental agenda in the Constituency.
He called on delegates to reject Okraku Mante because he is not part of them despite hailing from the Constituency.
“This is a mistake made by the NDC and we must not do same”, he added.
Mr. Ayeh-Paye is expected to file his nomination on either Thursday or Friday.
Despite the huge support for Dr. Bawumia by most NPP members of Parliament, Hon. Samuel Ayeh-Paye says, Alan Kyeremateng is leading the presidential race and he is going emerge winner on November 4.
He added that, playing a role as the Eastern Regional Coordinator for Alan’s campaign has boosted his chances in the Ayensuano Constituency.
