The deputy Minister for Tourism, Arts and Culture, Hon. Mark Okraku Mante has on Friday August 4th 2023 filed his nomination to contest in the New Patriotic Party’s Parliamentary Primaries in the Ayensuano Constituency.
The deputy minister who was joined by over 600 delegates, comprising of Constituency Executives, Council of Elders and Patrons, Electoral Area Coordinators and Polling Station Executives was astound by the love and support shown him.
Addressing a score of party faithfuls after his filling, he revealed that, he is going to change the fortunes of the Ayensuano Constituency through education.
“Development start from the education so I stand for education. We are going to take a cue from Kwahu who has been successful in developing the minds of their people through education”, he said.
” When the education is high, it influence jobs and when jobs are high, it influence wealth. We will use our connections to develop Ayensuano”, he added.
Hon. Okraku Mante touted that, he is the sure bet to recapture the seat for the New Patriotic Party.
He also made a donation of GHc 10,000.00 to support the construction of the Constituency party office and promised to build party offices for the Asuboi and Anum Apapam zones.
Some delegates and members of the Constituency laid the blame on their former and current legislatures for failing to lobby for developmental projects to the area, thus, the call for a new face and a new hope.
They expressed confidence in Hon. Mark Okraku Mante.
According to them, they need a unifier who has the connections to create opportunities for the youth and develop the Constituency.
During a visit to the Coltar Palace after his filling, Okraku Mante officially introduced himself to the traditional leaders of the area.
The Abusuapanyin of the Coltar community, Opanyin Kofi Adu who spoke on behalf of the Traditional Leaders indicated his disappointment about the nature of their roads.
He acknowledged the respect given to them by Okraku Mante and urged delegates to overwhelmely endorse him to give the Constituency a facelift.
In his address to the chiefs, Okraku Mante assured that, the Coltar road will for the first time see “Coltar” before the 2024 general elections.
