Samuel Osei Sarkodie, the Youth Organiser of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the New Juaben North Constituency, in collaboration with the New Juaben North District Office of the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) has undertaken a free NHIS registration and renewal exercise aimed at improving access to healthcare for residents.
The initiative, which took place at Asokore, a suburb of the New Juaben Constituency on Tuesday, March 3, 2026, sought to ease the financial burden on vulnerable groups, including the elderly, and single parents, who often struggle to renew or register for the scheme.

The exercise recorded a strong and encouraging turnout, with over 700 residents taking advantage of the opportunity to either register for the first time or renew their NHIS membership.
Speaking to the media, the ambitious NPP youth leader in the New Juaben North constituency underscored the importance of healthcare accessibility, noting that many residents are unable to afford renewal fees despite the critical role the NHIS plays in safeguarding families against unexpected medical expenses.
According to him, the initiative forms part of his foundation’s (The S.O.S Foundation) commitment to community development and social intervention programmes in the constituency.

Meanwhile, residents who benefited from the exercise expressed gratitude for the intervention, describing it as a big relief for them.
The New Juaben North Constituency, located in Koforidua, has witnessed a number of social intervention programmes through ‘The S.O.S Foundation’.

As the NPP prepare to elect their regional and district leaders, Samuel Osei Sarkodie has declared his intentions to contest for the regional Youth Organizer role in the Eastern Region.
