Concerned NDC youth in the Nsawam Adoagyiri constituency have given 24-hour ultimatum to the party’s parliamentary candidate, Honourable Philibert Fummey Amenorpe to explain his decision to lobby for the MCE Seat instead of fighting to be declared as the elected MP for the area.
According to the aggrieved youth, the PC has filed for the MCE position despite earlier intention to contest the election result in court.
Despite assuring party supporters to seek justice to be named as the MP earlier on with a court injunction on the incumbent NPPP MP Frank Annor Dompreh, the PC seems to have back out of the case and rather channelling his efforts to get the MCE job.
The group also accused the Eastern Regional Chairman of the party, Dr Mark Oliver Kevor of assuring to support the PC for the MCE job rather than seeking to take the seat on legally in the December polls.

Press Release
CONCERNED YOUTH OF NATIONAL DEMOCRATIC CONGRESS (NDC), NSAWAM ADOAGYIRI CONSTITUENCY
Date: 17th January,2025
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
The Concerned Members of the NDC in the Nsawam Adoagyiri Constituency wish to bring to the attention of the NDC Constituency Election Directorate, the Parliamentary Candidate (PC), and all concerned stakeholders the following pressing matters requiring immediate attention:
- Demand for Collated Election Results
We demand that the Constituency Election Directorate urgently release the collated results of both the presidential and parliamentary elections. Transparency in this regard is critical to maintaining the trust and confidence of the party’s grassroots and ensuring accountability within our electoral processes. - Call for Honourable Philibert Fummey Amenorpe (Selorm) to Step Down
We have credible information, supported by documented evidence, that Honourable Philibert Fummey Amenorpe (Selorm) is contesting the parliamentary election results at the Koforidua High Court. In view of this, we strongly demand that he immediately step down from his reported intention to file for the position of Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), unless he is deceiving the party faithfuls that he won the 2024 parliamentary election. This conflict of interest undermines the integrity of the party and raises questions about his commitment to the NDC’s vision. - To the Regional Chairman, Dr. Mark Oliver Kevor:
It has come to our attention that Honourable Selorm is spreading information that you are encouraging him to file for the position of Municipal Chief Executive (MCE). We respectfully request that you cease any such actions immediately. Alternatively, we urge you to publicly denounce these allegations to clear any misunderstandings and maintain the integrity of our party. - Response to Allegations Against Honourable Selorm
Allegations have surfaced suggesting that Honourable Selorm has received a substantial sum of money from Honourable Frank Annoh Dompreh, purportedly in exchange for working towards the MCE position through his connections with MPs on the opposing side. We demand that Honourable Selorm publicly address these allegations, as they cast serious doubts on his loyalty and credibility within the party. - Update on the Collation Centre Shooting Incident
We demand an update from both Honourable Selorm and the Constituency Executives regarding the shooting of a youth at the collation centre, allegedly involving Honourable Frank Annoh Dompreh. This incident is a grave matter of concern, and we demand justice for the victim. The silence on this issue is unacceptable, and we urge swift action to ensure accountability. - The NDC in Nsawam Adoagyiri stands for transparency, justice, and the collective progress of the party. We urge the Constituency Election Directorate, Honourable Selorm, and all relevant stakeholders to respond to these demands without delay to restore trust and unity within the party.
