Four Senior High Schools in the Eastern Region have qualified to National level in the 2020 edition of National Science and Maths Quiz (NSMQ).
These are the second set of winners from the Eastern Region:
#Adonten SHS
#Asamankese SHS
#Abuakwa State College
#St. Martin’s SHS
The quiz is Ghana’s biggest academic competition that is aired on radio, television and various social media platforms.
Besides academic considerations, the competition offers winning schools ‘bragging rights’ over other competitors, at least for the period they reign as champions.
Since the competition commenced sometime in 1993, no girls’ school has ever won it. Champions have come from co-educational and boys’ schools.
It is produced by Primetime Limited and sponsored by the GES, in collaboration with CHASS, among other organizations.
St. Augustine’s College was emerged the winners of the 2019 National Science and Maths Quiz after upstaging five-time record champions Presbyterian Boys’ Secondary School, Legon and three-time winners St. Peter’s Secondary School, Nkwatia in the final.
Augusco’s victory ended a 12-year trophy drought at the NSMQ and saw them add another title to their only win back in 2007.
