In a show of support for Ghana’s student community, Education minister Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum joined the Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia at the opening ceremony of the highly anticipated 56th National Union of Ghana Students (NUGS) Delegates Congress on 5th July, 2023.
The event held at the University of Cape Coast, brought together student representatives from across the country to discuss important matters affecting the education system and the welfare of Ghanaian students.
In my address, the minister reiterated the government’s commitment to prioritizing education and working collaboratively with student organizations to improve the quality of education in Ghana.
On behalf of the President, H.E Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, Dr. Osei Adutwum handed over the keys of a brand new vehicle to NUGS to facilitate the union’s works.
Following the conclusion of the Congress, the minister paid an unannounced visit to Mfantsiman Girls Senior High School, a shining example of excellence in education.
He commended the teachers for their dedication and hard work and encouraged the students to remain focused on their studies, pursue their passions, and strive for excellence.
