The leadership of National Union of Ghana Students (NUGS), led by its President, Mr. Dennis Appiah Larbi-Ampofo, has honourd the Administrator of the Ghana Education Trust Fund (GETFund), Dr. Richard Ampofo Boadu, with a curated portrait, at the Fund’s Secretariat, Accra.
According to the NUGS President, this is the Union’s token of appreciation for all the support he has provided to the Union in particularly, and the Ghanaian student community at large.
‘We fully appreciate the financial challenges facing the Fund currently; regardless, Dr. Boadu with your enormous mercurial leadership skills, you have endeared yourself to the rank and file of stakeholders’, Mr. Larbi-Ampofo, said.
The GETFund Administrator, in his response, briefly, recounted the role NUGS Leaders then played leading to the enactment of GETFund Act, 2000, Act 581.
‘Indeed, the success story of the Fund for the past 20 years has really vindicated the efforts and the cry of students leaders then in establishing this phenomenal Fund meant to supplement education delivery in the country’, Dr. Boadu added.
He reiterated his commitment to funding critical education programmes to improve quality education via public improved learning outcomes.
