Government has charged Anglo-Gold Ashanti to bear medical bills of victims of a clash between security officer is of the company and some persons believed to be illegal miners.
The directive comes after a bloody clash that resulted in the death of eight persons and several others severely injured.
In a press release from the office of the president and signed by the Acting Spokesperson to the President Felix Kwakye Ofosu, the company has also been tasked to consult family members of the deceased to facilitate arrangements for their funeral.
Meanwhile, government has called for immediate investigation of the matter as security agencies have been directed to restore peace in the community and also ensure such occurrence is not repeated.
