The Akyem Oda Divisional Commander for the Motor Traffic and Transport Department of the Ghana Police Service ASP Edmund Agyekum has issued a stern warning against drivers driving unregistered vehicles in the area during this Easter.
Speaking to the media in Akyem Oda, ASP Agyekum said, many unregistered vehicles operating in the area are linked to unlawful acts on the road including hit and run.
But because these vehicles are not registered it makes it difficult for the police to identify and arrest them.
He said the command is going to be tough on unregistered vehicles henceforth.
ASP Agyekum also turned attention to motor riders to adhere to road regulations particularly the wearing of a helmet.
He also warned drivers to desist from drinking alcohol while driving to avoid arrest and prosecution.
ASP Agyekum assured that the MTTD Command in Akyem Oda is fully prepared to ensure the safety of motorists before, during, and after Easter.
