The Member of Parliament for Odotobri constituency in the Ashanti Regional, Hon. Emmanuel Akwasi Gyamfi has donated an incubator to St. Peters Hospital worth GHS 24,000.00 as part of efforts to boost the health facilities.
Speaking to the media, the lawmaker said the donation formed part of his promises to ensure that the health facility was better equipped to deliver quality health care.
“We all know how babies suffer after birth and at times, it is very disheartening to see that more than three kids share an incubator that is meant for one”
“It was imperative that I channel my donation towards this end and ensure that whatever I give is something that is going to solve this particular problem”
Hon. Emmanuel Akwasi Gyamfi assured the management of the hospital of his continuous support to ensure that no child dies because of the incubator.
“These gifts are our widow’s mite and whatever it is, if we have to borrow to assist human health, we will do it because these are the very people who helped us get to this point and their challenge is our challenge,” he added.
This came to light when Jacobu held the maiden edition of Jacobu Unity Festival, under the theme “Our Responsibility as a Citizen”.
The Queen mother of Jacobu, Nana Konadu Yiadom II, who joined the MP, said was a wonderful gesture that would go a long way to alleviate the challenges within the health sector in the area.
