A motor rider believed to be Operating Okada has been arrested for knocking down to death a four (4) year old boy at Odumase Krobo in the Eastern Region.
The incident occurred on May 13, 2021, at about 9: 30am when the suspect rider Ayertey David aged 22 was riding with speed Royal motorcycle with registration number M- 21- GE 754 from Old Odumase – Krobo Police Station direction towards the Odumase Chief Palace.
But on reaching a section of the road at Laasi a suburb of Odumase-Krobo, knocked down Tetteh Kwabena, 4, who was crossing the road alone from the nearside to the offside.
He sustained an injury on his head and was rushed to the St. Martin De Porres Hospital for medical treatment but he passed on whilst receiving the treatment.
Body deposited at the same Hospital morgue for preservation and autopsy.
The accident motorcycle has been impounded at the Police Station.
The acting Public Relations Officer of the Eastern Regional Police Command, Sergeant Francis Gomado said, the regional MTTD is worried about the rate at which motorbike riders are being involved in fatal accidents.
He said the Command will soon tailor specific operations targeting unlicensed and reckless riders in the region.
