The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Suhum, Hon. Lydia Ohenewaa, has reiterated government’s unwavering commitment to advancing development in the Okorase community of the Eastern Region.
Speaking at the 2025 Okroase Odwira Festival, which was celebrated under the theme “Our Culture, the Foundation of Bringing Development to Our Community,” Hon. Ohenewaa described the occasion as a significant moment for reflection, unity, and renewal of commitment toward community progress.
She commended the Chiefs and people of Okroase for their cooperation and peaceful coexistence, urging them to remain united and supportive of government initiatives. “If we work together and support the President’s vision for the district, all the development projects promised will surely come to pass,” she assured.
The MCE further encouraged the youth to be proactive and take up leadership roles in the community, emphasizing that the future of the nation depends on their energy, innovation, and sense of responsibility.
Highlighting some of the government’s ongoing and upcoming projects, Hon. Ohenewaa mentioned road construction and land grading works in the area. She noted that the contractor had already begun preliminary work and would resume full operations immediately after the festival.
She also disclosed that the poor road network in Okroase had been brought to the attention of the President, who has pledged to facilitate necessary improvements.
Hon. Ohenewaa reaffirmed her administration’s readiness to support all initiatives that promote the growth and well-being of the people, and called on the Chiefs and residents to continue supporting her with prayers, unity, and cooperation.
“Together, with the support of our traditional leaders, party executives, and community members, we will achieve the development Okroase deserves,” she added.
