Police have restored calm at Ofankor in the Greater Accra region following a violent incident on Wednesday, September 20, 2023.
The police have mounted a search for persons behind the violent incident which includes burning of tires and blocking of roads at Ofankor
The Police says investigations were immediately launched into the inciden.
“Investigation so far indicates that the riot was in relation to a land litigation issue,” the Ghana Police Service said in a statement.
It added that it has since strengthened security in the area and the road has been opened to normal traffic flow.
The police confirmed that they are actively investigating the incident to identify and apprehend those responsible.
