Ghanaians were in anguish as to whom their president is, based on the petition filed by the opposition party, National Democratic Party (NDC) regarding errors they think was made by the EC chairperson, Jean Mensah.
On the 4th of March, 2021, the Supreme Court sitting on the election petition came to an end when the Chief Justice, Kwasi Anin-Yeboah declared the result of the 2020 election petition as dismissed without merit.
According to him, it is their opinion that the error made by the EC chair did not affect the result hence insufficient to say there was a violation of Article 63(3) of the 1992 constitution.
“Neither the petitioner nor any of his witnesses were able to show us the legal implications of the EC’s failure to involve them in correcting errors in the election results; we do not also find any,” Supreme Court voiced, hence petition dismissed
