Osagyefo Amoatia Ofori Panin has elevated Barima Kwaku Dua, Etwienana Hene of Kyebi, to the esteemed office of Twafohene, ending a 58-year vacancy since the passing of the late J.B. Danquah.
The newly installed Twafohene, given a stool name as Okatakyie Ababio Boakye Danquah II is also known in private life as Isaac Emmil Osei-Bonsu is a senior partner at the law firm Minkah-Premo & Co.
In addition to his legal expertise, Okatakyie Ababio Boakye Danquah II serves as the board chairman of the National Communication Authority(NCA) and holds an honorary consul position for Jamaica.
Specializing in real estate and company law, he consults for various international and local organizations.
During the installation ceremony at Ofori Panie Fie over the weekend, Osagyefo Amoatia Ofori explained that the Twafohene stool had remained vacant as they sought a replacement who could match the caliber of the late J.B. Danquah.
He expressed optimism that Okatakyie Ababio Boakye Danquah II would serve Okyeman with humility and dignity, bringing his wise counsel to bear.
Traditionally, the Twafohene serves as the chief advisor to the Okyenhene and is a key member of his cabinet.
Barima Bedumgya Asante was also installed as the new Atwienana Hene of Kyebi.
Taking the traditional oath, Twafohene Okatakyie Ababio Boakye Danquah II pledged loyalty to Okyeman and a commitment to diligent service.
Osagyefuo Amoatia Ofori Panin urged the chiefs, especially the newly enstooled Twafohene, to draw inspiration from the legacies of J.B. Danquah and actively contribute to the development of Akyem Abuakwa and Ghana as a whole.
The colorful traditional ceremony at Ofori Panin Fie in Kyebi saw the attendance of President Akufo Addo, Finance Minister Ken Ofori Atta, Gabby Asare Okyere Darko, Nana Asante Bediatuo (Executive Secretary to the President), and other dignitaries.
The ceremony was graced by the presence of chiefs and queen mothers, including Edmund Nminyem Delle Chiir VIII, Paramount Chief of the Nandom Traditional Area, Okuapehene Oseadeyo Kwasi Akuffo III.
