Okyehene Osagyefuo Amoatia Ofori Panin, the British High commissioner to Ghana Iain Walker, and business mogul Sam Jonah were spotted Friday by Journalists playing golf at Cocoa Research Institute of Ghana (CRIG) Golf Park at Akyem Tafo in the Eastern Region.
The British High commissioner, H.E Iain Walker had earlier paid a courtesy call to His Royal Majesty Okyehene Osagyefuo Amoatia Ofori Panin at the Ofori Panin Fie in Kyebi to discussions matters of national interest and investment in the forestry plantation sector to restore and restock degraded landscape in Akyem Abuakwa.
Samuel Esson Jonah (Sam Jonah) is a Ghanaian businessman and the current Chancellor of the University of Cape Coast.
Mr. Jonah chairs the boards of Equator Exploration Ltd, Scharrig Mining, Equinox Minerals, Uramin, Moto Goldmines Ltd, and Range Resources Ltd.
He also serves on various boards including Transnet, Mittal Steel SA, Ashesi University, Standard Bank of South Africa, Lonmin, the Commonwealth African Investment Fund (Comafin), the Advisory Council of the UN Secretary General’s Global Compact.
Mr. Jonah is also a member of the Advisory Board of the London Business School.
Senior citizen, Sam K. Jonah, recently stoked controversy when he decried a culture of silence under President Nana Akufo-Addo.
Mr. Jonah, in his recent public lecture with Rotarians in Accra under the theme: Down the Up Escalator: Reflections on Ghana’s Future by a Senior Citizen, bemoaned that many individuals and civil society organizations that used to speak up against social ills have all gone mute under President Nana Akufo-Addo despite wanton corruption, killing and torturing of journalists, and rising moral degeneration in the Ghanaian society.
